Business cards in Miami: what to check before ordering
The most useful business card is one a customer can read, keep and act on. Before choosing a finish, confirm the contact details, the finished size and the file your printer needs.
Start with the next action
Decide what you want someone to do after receiving the card: call, visit, book or keep your details. Make that action easy to find. A small business does not need to list every service on the front. For example, a mobile service can give the phone number more prominence than a long address. This is a layout choice, not a promise that one design will sell better.
Read a printed-size proof
Print a paper draft at actual size and check the smallest line without enlarging it. Review names, punctuation, the website and the phone number character by character. If there is a QR code, test the final exported file and its destination; a large code that leads to an outdated page does not help. Keep a readable contact method beside it.
Separate safe area from bleed
A background extending to the cut needs bleed. A phone number needs space inside the safe area. These serve different purposes. Use the template for the selected card, rather than borrowing the margins from another product. Avoid delicate borders very close to the trim: small cutting variation can make an otherwise balanced border look uneven.
Choose the finish for how the card is used
If the recipient will write on the card, ask whether the selected coating is suitable. If the finish or color is important, ask which physical reference can be reviewed; a screen cannot fully show the feel or reflection of a printed surface. A proof of the layout and a reference for the material answer different questions.
Prepare the order, not just the design
Confirm quantity, printed sides and the exact finish shown in the configurator. Keep front and back clearly labeled. Save an editable original and review the exported production file separately. For a Miami business working toward an event or opening, give the required in-hand date before placing the order; availability and production timing need confirmation, not assumption.

Questions
Should every service go on the card?
Usually a clear service description and a usable contact path are a better starting point than a crowded list. Keep details that support the next action.
Is a PDF proof a material sample?
No. It helps verify content and layout; it cannot fully reproduce the selected paper and finish.
