Print-ready files: a practical final check before ordering in Miami
A file can look finished and still leave production questions unanswered. A useful handoff identifies the product, its finished size, the correct template and the exact version approved for printing.
Match the file to the actual product
Choose the product and configuration before using a template. Confirm whether the template represents the finished size, bleed and safe area. Keep guides on the appropriate non-printing layer where applicable and follow the supplied export instructions. A template for one size or finish should not be assumed suitable for another.
Check images at the intended size
Look at the original image dimensions and how much the image is enlarged in the layout. A small image can look acceptable on a phone while lacking detail for the printed piece. Enlarging it or changing a resolution field does not create original detail. The appropriate requirements depend on the product and viewing conditions.
Keep text and linked resources reliable
Open the working file and check for missing images, unavailable fonts, hidden text or overset boxes. Use properly licensed resources. Keep an editable original for corrections, even if the production handoff is a PDF. Do not assume that every PDF can be edited cleanly later.
Review the file you will actually send
Export using the instructions for the product, then reopen that export. Check page count, orientation, front/back labeling and content at actual size. Test links or QR destinations where relevant. A correct working file does not establish that the export retained every element as intended.
Name the final version clearly
Use a practical filename that distinguishes the approved artwork from earlier drafts. Supply the order reference and identify any special artwork such as a white-ink layer according to the product instructions. For a deadline, confirm the production handoff and required date before ordering; submitting a file does not automatically confirm a completion time.

Questions
Is 300 ppi the rule for every printed product?
No single number replaces the product specifications, original image detail, printed size and viewing conditions.
Is changing the resolution enough to fix a blurry image?
No. It does not restore missing original detail; assess the original file and intended use.
